Kinberger Promoted To FHSU Softball Coach (AUDIO)

After spending three years as an assistant coach at Fort Hays State, Erin Kinberger is being promoted to head coach of the Tiger softball program. Kinberger takes over for Julie LeMaire, who resigned to take the head coaching position at Emporia State. LeMaire led the Tigers to a 92-76 mark over the last three seasons and guided the team to the MIAA Tournament championship game this past spring.

The 26-year-old Kinberger spent one year as a graduate assistant at St. Leo University in Florida where she a solid playing career as the Lions catcher where she was a part of two NCAA II Tournament teams. Kinberger was the head coach in the summer of 2007 for the Team FLA 16U and moved up to head caoch of the Team FLA 18U Gold in the summer of 2008.

Kinberger is a native of Clearwater, Fla. and has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Saint Leo University in 2007 and a master’s degree in Health and Human Performance from Fort Hays State University in 2009.
