A Hays woman was crowned Miss Czech-Slovak US Queen last week at the national Czech Days celebration in Wilber, Nebraska. Christine Dowling is a senior at Kansas State University. This is the first time the pageant has crowned a winner fromKansas.

Along with scholarships, cash and gifts, Dowling was awarded a trip to the Czeck Republic.
