The Fort Hays State women’s soccer team’s first ever game, an exhibition contest Friday (August 19) with Butler Community College, ended in a 1-1 tie at the FHSU Soccer Stadium. The game was called with 22 minutes remaining due to lightning.

FHSU scored the first goal of the game 20 minutes into the first half when junior Cindy Benitez’s header found the back of the net. Nicole Randall’s pass set up the Lady Tiger goal.

BCC scored the tying goal seven minutes later. The game remained scoreless for the remaining 50 minutes of the contest.

The Lady Tigers play again this Sunday at 4:30pm against Hutchinson Community College at the FHSU Soccer Stadium.
