Four seats are open on the Ellis County Joint Planning Commission. Monday night the county commission argued over a resolution passed by the previous commission giving chairman Glenn Diehl the power to nominate three appointees. Commissioner Swede Holmgren says the selection should be up to all three commissioners.

Diehl says the chair has made the nominations in the past, and he doesn’t understand what the problem is.

The other commissioners did not second any of Diehl’s nominations, but approved three from Holmgren. Although, Diehl wants to confer with the county counselor before moving forward.
