Eagle Communications will again carry sports on the MIAA Broadcasting Television Network. The network, that includes Fort Hays State Tiger games, will feature 20 televised football and basketball conference games in 2011-12.
The games will be carried live on Eagle Communications Channel 15 in Hays, Russell, Ellis, Victoria, Munjor and WaKeeney.
Ten football games will be televised, as was the case a year ago, but a new wrinkle has been added for 2011. The first eight games of the broadcast schedule have been established, but the final two weeks have been left open as “flex” games. The games that are of the most interest to MIAA fans, whether it be a game with championship implications, rivalry game, etc., will be chosen to fill the final two slots.
The 2011 MIAA football broadcast schedule kicks off on Thursday, Sept. 8, on the campus of Washburn University. There, the Ichabods will host the Lincoln Blue Tigers at 6 p.m. CT.
Two days later, the scene shifts to St. Joseph, Mo., as Missouri Western hosts Central Missouri on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 6 p.m. CT.
“The enthusiasm we saw for these broadcasts last season was outstanding,” said Travis Kohlrus, Eagle Broadband Director of Community Relations and Product Development.
We are very pleased to again offer viewers this exclusive coverage to our fall and winter sports programming lineup. These broadcasts give FHSU fans another chance to see Tiger games and the opportunity to see other sites around the MIAA conference. We are excited about the partnership.”
