
Bruce Chen was in control as he wins his fourth consecutive start and the Kansas City Royals begin their ten-game road trip in good fashion, defeating the Toronto Blue Jays 6-4.
Chen was perfect through three innings and allowed three runs on four hits over 7 2/3 innings to move to 9-5. He is now 4-1 with a 3.68 ERA in his five August starts.
Jeff Francoeur matched his career-high with four hits. Eric Hosmer and Billy Butler both homer.
The Royals score there in the second then three more in the fifth. Chen gave up three in the sixth and Joakim Soria allowed a run in the ninth.
