Senator Jerry Moran says the solution to the Postal Service’s financial problems is not cutting services and closing post offices. According to Moran, that option is self-defeating as customers turn to other alternatives. He also says the closures won’t save enough to make a dent in the USPS debt, and may actually be illegal.
Moran sent a letter to the Postmaster General requesting a response to the legality of the closures and is still waiting on that response.
