Fort Hays rallied from 13 down in the first half to take a 21-20 lead at halftime. Andre Smith’s 83 yard touchdown run gave them a 31-23 lead late in the third quarter, but Truman came back with 14 fourth quarter points to pick up the victory.

Andre Smith finished with 204 yards rushing on 21 carries and a touchdown. Alex Whitehill led the defense with 19 tackles.

Fort Hays State falls to 1-1 on the season. They return home next Saturday to play Southwest Baptist at 7pm.
