
For the second straight week a FHSU women’s cross country runner has earned MIAA Cross Country Runner of the Week. This time, Alex Nelson earned the honor, which is selected by a panel of conference sports information directors.
Nelson, a freshman from Clay Center, Kan., earned the honor after placing first overall in the Colby Community College Invite on Friday (Sept. 9). She finished the 4k race with a time of15:49, 12 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.
She is the second straight FHSU women’s cross country runner to earn the honor. Senior Raven Boettger was selected last week as the MIAA Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Nelson and her teammates travel this Saturday (Sept. 17) to the Woody Greeno Invitational in Lincoln, Neb.The start time for the race is 10 a.m.
