FHSU Men’s Golf 13th At NSU Classic

The Fort Hays State men’s golf team entered the final round of competition at the Northeastern State Classic in 13th and held that position. The Tigers shot a final round 298 to remain 13th in the final standings of the 19-team tournament, held at Muskogee Country Club in Muskogee, Okla., a par-71 course.

Kevin Quinley finished as the top player for the FHSU men with a three-round total of 219 (70-75-74). He tied for 22nd. Markus Hilger tied for 56th with a total of 226 (75-74-77). Trey Herman (75-80-73) and Austin Maxwell (79-75-74) each tied with 228 two shots back of Hilger. Tom O’Keeffe finished at 229 with rounds of 75, 77 and 77.

Fort Hays State finished third out of the seven MIAA teams competing in the event, behind Washburn (6th) and Central Missouri (9th). Central Oklahoma dominated the team competition shooting 846, eight-under par for the tournament as a team. Fort Hays State finished with a team score of 894.

The individual medalist honors for the tournament went to Ethan Adamson of Arkansas-Fort Smith, who shot five-under par overall.
