A Hays-based Army Reserve unit will deploy to Qatar for approximately one year. The 391st Medical Company has about 60 soldiers whose mission will be to ship and receive medical supplies for the Central Command theater. The unit, which is part of the 807th Medical Command, also has optical and medical equipment repair capabilities.
A farewell ceremony will be held Friday morning at nine at the VFW in Hays.
