The Fort Hays State men’s golf team sits in sixth place after the opening round of the Southwest Baptist Invitational.

The Tigers shot a 303 and trail first-place Central Missouri by 22 shots.

Markus Hilger leads the way after a 1-over-par 73 and is tied for 14th. Kevin Quinley fired 2-over 74 and is tied for 19th entering Tuesday’s final round.
