The Hays High girls’ tennis team claimed the school’s first Western Athletic Conference title Monday, scoring 14 points, four ahead of second-place Great Bend.

Hanna Pfannenstiel went 4-0 to win No. 1 singles. Bonnie McRae and Emily Wyse went 4-0 at No. 1 doubles and Megan Bird and Janae Gagnon went 4-0 to win No. 2 doubles. All were named to the All-WAC team. Jill Taylor finished 2-2 at No. 2 singles.

Pfannenstiel was named WAC Player of the Year and Brett Jenson WAC Coach of the Year.
