A grant from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to fund the Healthy Families Program has been approved by the Ellis County Commission. The funding will pass through the county health department to the Kansas Children’s Service League, which will provide the services for at-risk families. Health Administrator Butch Schlyer says this is the first time the county will receive this grant.

Matching funds of $80,000 have been guaranteed by the Heartland Community Foundation.
