Central Missouri fumbled on their first possession then scored 21 unanswered in the first quarter and went on to defeat the Tigers 35-7 Saturday night in front of 2,714 at Lewis Field. The Tigers, who were held without a first down in the first half, would muster just 18 yards in the first two quarters.
The Tigers moved inside Mules territory on their first two possessions of the third quarter but came up empty. After the Mules pushed the lead to 28-0, Fort Hays scored their lone touchdown on a 24-yard pass from Anthony Sheppard to Edward Smith.
Central Missouri finishes with 613 yards, 206 on the ground and 407 through the air. Tommy Corwin completed 29-of-45 for 398 yards and four touchdowns.
Tiger quarterback Anthony Sheppard was 11-for-25 for 79 and led the Tigers in rushing with 78 yards on 12 carries. Alex Whitehill led the Tigers with 20 tackles.
