Cooler With Chance Of Showers

Today: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61. Light wind becoming north northeast between 15 and 18 mph. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph.

Tonight: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 7pm. Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 36. North northwest wind between 9 and 14 mph.

As an upper level storm system moves across the Colorado Rockies today, a cold front will develop over the high plains of eastern Colorado.

This front will push south and east during the late afternoon and evening hours with strong north winds of 25 to 35mph developing in its wake across far southwest and west-central Kansas…mainly after 3:00pm CDT. Scattered rain showers will also develop across much of southwest Kansas as the storm system moves east-southeast across far northeastern New Mexico and the Texas Panhandle late in the afternoon and early this evening.

A frost advisory is in effect mainly west of a Dighton to Cimarron to Meade line late tonight through daybreak Tuesday morning as temperatures fall to 32 to 34 degrees. A wind advisory is in effect this afternoon and early this evening generally west of a Lakin to Ulysses to Hugoton line.
