Two people were injured in an accident on I-70 eastbound, 9 miles east of Hays.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 75-year-old Norma J. Berens of Victoria was eastbound on Interstate 70 in the passing lane and attempted to merge right onto the exit ramp at milepost 168.5 and struck the trailer of another vehicle.

Berens was injured and transported to Hays Medical Center by personal vehicle.

The driver of the second vehicle, 42-year-old Fikru D. Wordofa was also injured the accident.

Their conditions have not been released.
