Despite home field advantage and the defense coming up with 5 fumble recoveries, the Indians fall to Hutchinson Friday night, 27-21.
Unfortunately, the Indians had their chances, but just failed to capitalize on scoring opportunities.
The Indians led once in the 1st quarter, 14-7, but never led again. Hays High came up with a touchdown on a run from QB Austin Unrein late in the 4th to make the score 27-21. With a little over 5 minutes remaining in the game, Hay High attempted the onside kick, but never got a hold of the ball again. The Salthawks ran out the clock, and came away with the victory.
Hutchinson had 455 total yards, Hays High had 261.
