
The Fort Hays State Lady Tigers came oh-so close to pulling off a stunner Wednesday night, but Oklahoma State scored the final seven points to hold off the Tigers 55-51 in Stillwater.
The Tigers trailed by eleven midway through the first half but scored the final four points of the first half to pull within six (24-30) at the half.
The Tigers used a 10-2 second half run to tie the game at 38 on Kaiamaka Brown 3-pointer. Jamel Durler hit a three with the shot clock winding down to put Fort Hays up 49-46 with 3:46 to play.
Lindsey Keller’s three tied the game at 51 and started a 7-0 run to close out the game for the Cowgirls.
Brown hit four of FHSU’s nine 3’s and led the Tigers with a game-high 18 points, 13 of them in the second half. Traci Keyser added 12 and Katelyn Edwards chipped in with 10. Fort Hays led the Cowgirls in rebounding, 46-41 and were led by Katelyn Edwards nine boards.
