Charges have been filed against a Hays woman accused of attempted murder. 26-year-old Domonique Benavidez has been charged in Ellis County District Court with one count of attempted intentional murder and one count of aggravated battery, causing great bodily harm.

Benavidez is alleged to have shot and stabbed William Crangle on November 20. Both charges are designated as domestic violence crimes. Crangle was treated at Hays Medical Center.

Benavidez is being held in the Ellis County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.

All defendants maintain the presumption of innocence unless and until proven guilty in a Court of law.
