The Fort Hays State Tigers match the best start in school history, holding off the Lincoln Blue Tigers 71-65 Wednesday night in Jefferson City, Mo. to move to 7-0.

Fort Hays State never trailed, scoring the games first eight points and led by as many as 11 in both the first and second half. Lincoln tied the game twice in the second half, the latest with 4:15 to play, the Tigers answered with nine straight.

FHSU shot just 58-percent from the free throw line but Traci Keyser and Kate Edwards  both hit a pair in the final minute to seal the win.

Edwards led the Tigers with 19 points and 15 rebounds. Kimber Weiser added 12 and Keyser 11.
