A video is being released Tuesday telling the story of Jana Mackey’s life and her death. Jana was an advocate for women’s rights and volunteered to help victims of domestic and sexual violence. She died at the hands of her ex-boyfriend in 2008.

Jana’s Campaign was started to continue her legacy. Jana’s mom Christie Brungardt, a Fort Hays State University professor, says her family, friends and colleges felt it was important to tell Jana’s story to continue the discussion and encourage action against domestic violence.
