MANHATTAN, Kan. — Thomas Gipson had 23 points and 12 rebounds Sunday as Kansas State defeated North Florida 79-68 in overtime.
Will Spradling and Jamar Samuels each added 12 points and five rebounds for the Wildcats (6-1), playing in their second straight overtime game. They lost to West Virginia on Thursday, 85-80 in double OT.
This time, the Wildcats prevailed behind 11 of 12 free throws in the extra period.
Spradling’s 3-pointer with 19 seconds left gave Kansas State a 60-58 lead, but Williams’ basket tied it and sent to overtime.
North Florida didn’t lead until Williams’ basket with 12:37 to play gave the Ospreys a 40-38 edge which they would increase to nine.
