The City of Hays is dropping its membership in the League of Kansas Municipalities. The city commission voted on the issue Thursday night. Commissioner Kent Steward says it comes down to a lack of communication and support for a legislative issue the city was trying to pursue.

The city’s membership fee is nearly $10,000.
