Slick Roads Blamed for Several Accidents

Snow and ice on Interstate 70 caused several accidents Thursday. The first occurred in Trego County at about 4:30am when a New Mexico woman lost control on the ice and rolled her vehicle. She was taken to Trego Lemke Memorial Hospital.

About three hours later, the Highway Patrol says 22-year-old Christianna Pruden of Russell hit some snow and ice about 13 miles east of Russell. Her vehicle rolled into the ditch and she was taken to Russell Regional Hospital.

A passenger was injured in a similar accident around10am about nine miles east of Russell, and shortly afternoon a couple from Colorado lost control and rolled in Ellsworth County.
