The Fort Hays State Lady Tigers rally from a double-digit first half deficit to lead by one at halftime and to on to defeat Missouri Southern 80-63 Monday night at Gross Coliseum.
Southern used a 16-6 run to build a 10-point lead midway through the first half and led by 11 with 7:31 to go in the half. The Lady scored 15 unanswered over the next 5:45 to go up 33-29 and led by one at the half despite going 0-for-7 from 3-point range.
The Tigers used a 15-2 second half run to go up 13 in the second half. After falling behind in the first half, the Tigers outscore the Lions 38-14.
The Tigers shot 44-percent for the game and were just 2-for-12 from 3-point range but go 30-of-42 from the free throw line.
Kate Edwards led three Lady Tigers in double-figures with a career-high 24 points and 10 rebounds, her fifth double-double of the season. Kate Lehman added 13 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. Kaiameka Brown added 14 points.
The win is the Lady Tigers fifth-straight at home as they improve to 14-2 and 6-2 in the MIAA. FHSU plays at conference leading Pittsburg State Saturday at 1:30pm.
