
The Fort Hays State Tigers shoot 68-percent in the second half as they end a three-game losing streak with a 76-66 road win over Pittsburg State Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers built a 16-point lead with 7:17 to play before the Gorillas pulled within six, but FHSU (11-4, 5-4 MIAA) made their final 12 free throws to hold Gorillas at bay.
The Tigers built a six-point first half lead on a Moses Dayee 3-pointer at the 4:45 mark but were held to one field goal and two free throws the rest of the way and trailed 29-28 at the break.
Dayee hit 5-of-8 3’s and led four Tigers in double-figures with a game-high 19 points. Tyrone Phillips was 7-for-7 a the free throw line and added 15. Karron McKenzie scored 13 and Kendrick Morse added 12.
