The Fort Hays State Tigers drop six spots but remain ranked in this week’s NABC Division II Coaches’ Poll released Tuesday. The Tigers fall from 19th to No. 25 and have now been ranked in 35-straight regular season polls.
The 35-consecutive week streak of being ranked in the NABC regular season poll is the longest ever for Fort Hays State. The Tigers eclipsed the old mark of 29, which started with the first regular season poll of the 1995-96 undefeated national championship season for the Tigers and ended on the ninth poll of the 1997-98 season, in the second regular season poll this year.
The Tigers have now been ranked in 48 regular season polls under 11th-year head coach Mark Johnson. All of those polls have been since the 2005-06 season, a year that saw the Tigers reach the No. 1 ranking in the nation.
Missouri Southern, who beat the Tigers last Monday, moves up seven to No. 16. Northwest Missouri State, who was ranked 24th last week, drops out of this week’s poll.
