
The Fort Hays State used an early 14-0 run to build a 15-point lead and never trailed in a 78-63 win over the Lincoln Blue Tigers Saturday at Gross Coliseum. Fort Hays led by as many as 22 in the second half as they win their third straight.
The Tigers held Lincoln to 19 first half points, all by Cedric Ridle, who scored the Blue Tigers first 24 points and finished with a career-high 38.
Tyrone Phillips led the Tigers with 23 points, 14 of them in the first half. Lance Russell added a career-best 17, Omar McDade 14 and Matt Simmons 13 along with 16 rebounds.
FHSU shoots 46-percent for the game (30-65) and were 10-27 from 3-point range. They hit 8-of-12 from the free throw line and outrebounded the Blue Tigers by nine.
