OPINION: We’ll Miss You JoPa

By John Fedele

When those in power at Penn State finally found a way to fire their legendary coach, I told my old high school football buddies that JoPa would not last a year. I know it was lung cancer, but I believe the hurt of being fired by the institute he helped build was a bit more than his heart could stand.

No he didn’t die of a heart attack, but the broken heart he suffered helped spur the cancer into a higher plane. I believe that.

Every football fan and especially those of us who played football in Pennsylvania with dreams of going to Penn State will never forget the coach. We will miss you JoPA
