Shirley Ann Jordan
Hays, Kansas – Shirley Ann Jordan, age 78, died Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at St. John’s of Hays Health Care Center, Hays, Kansas. She was born June 24, 1933, at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Ed and Pearl (Bryarly) Haney. She married Marion Jordan on October 18, 1952, at Clayton, New Mexico.

She grew up in Russell, Kansas, and was a 1951 graduate of Russell High School. She was a graduate of Fort Hays State College Hays, Kansas, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She was a school teacher for 32 years and retired in 1993 then moved to Hays, Kansas. Her teaching career included school districts at: Lincoln, Turon, Preston, Palco Liberal, Overbrook, Zurich and substitute teaching at Plainville, Kansas. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Hays, Kansas, KPERS and Theta Sorority. The last fifteen months she has been a resident at St. John’s of Hays Health Care Center, Hays, Kansas.

Survivors include her husband, Marion Jordan, of the home; two sons, Brad Jordan, Hays, KS; Greg Jordan and wife, Barb, Laramie, WY; three grandsons, Zach Jordan, Austin Jordan and Alex Jordan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Robert Haney.

Services are 10:00 A.M. Monday, January 30, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church Hays, Kansas. Burial at Fort Hays Memorial Garden Cemetery, Hays, Kansas. Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday at Cline’s Mortuary of Hays 1919 East 22nd Street Hays, Kansas 67671 and from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Monday at the Church.
