The Rooks County Sheriff had his first appearance in Ellis County District Court Monday morning.

Randy Axelson is charged with distribution of methamphetamine. He was arrested following an investigation by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, Rooks County Sheriff’s deputies and police officers from Plainville and Stockton.

Ellis County Attorney Tom Drees is serving as the special prosecutor.

Axelson is free on $45,000 bond, but must wear an electronic monitor.
