GIRLS: Hays 39, Dodge City 26
The Hays High Lady Indians never trailed in picking up their first double digit winning season since 2004-05 in a 39-26 win in Dodge City Tuesday night.
The Indians opened the game on a 7-2 run and used a 8-0 run to open the second half enroute to 13 point lead and the win.
Hays shot 41% from the field. Defense was the name of the game though as Dodge City was held to 18% shooting and just 1 of 20 behind the arc.
Taylor Herman scored a career high ten points grabbed four rebounds and blocked six shots. Paige Lunsford added ten points and Katelyn Shumacher collected 12 rebounds.
Hays moves to 10-4 on the year and 4-0 in the Western Athletic Conference.

BOYS: Dodge City 45, Hays 31
Hays High took a 2-0 nothing lead eight seconds into their game with Dodge City last night, but it would be their last lead of the night as Dodge City answered with a 12-0 run that lead to a 14 point Red Demon lead after one quarter. The two teams played even after that with Hays losing by the same 14 point margin 45-31.
The Indians did pull with in nine points twice in the second half but never got any closer.
Hays was out rebounded 31-19 and shot 35% from the field. Big difference at the free throw line as Hays was 5 for 9 whileDodge Citywas 12 of 25.
Hays drops their seventh in a row and is 4-10 on the season and 1-3 in conference play.
