Construction of the ITC Great Plains transmission line from Spearville to Nebraska is on schedule. The wires have been strung to the Post Rock substation north of Hays, and the poles and wires are going up in the next phase to the Nebraska border.

ITC Executive Director Carl Huslig says the line will create more energy stability in Kansas and Nebraska.

The 345 kilovolt line will connect with a substation in Axtell, Nebraska. Completion is scheduled for next November or December with the line in service from Spearville to Axtell by June 2013.
