Work is progressing on repairs to the storm sewer pipe below the 100 block of east 12th Street in Hays. A section of the pipe had eroded beyond repair, putting the street in danger of collapsing. Stormwater Superintendent Nick Willis says the project should wrap up fairly soon.
The new section of pipe is in place and sidewalk and base road repairs are almost finished. Weather permitting, the brick contractor will begin laying the street next week.
