Warm And Windy Today

A weak lee side trough of low pressure will remain across extreme eastern Colorado today influencing westerly winds across western Kansas bringing drier and warmer air into the area.

Look for highs mainly up into the low to mid 70s this afternoon. Additionally, westerly winds will increase through this afternoon with wind speeds generally reaching 15 to 25 mph. Combined with low relative humidities this will result in conditions favorable for wildfires, especially across extreme southwest Kansas. A Red Flag Warning is in effect this afternoon for extreme southwest Kansas.
