Hays High’s Weigel and Drylie In State Wrestling Finals

The Hays High Indians will have two wrestlers going for state titles Saturday at the 5A state tournament in Wichita. Preston Weigel goes for the 170 pound title and Cash Drylie for the 220 pound championship.

Weigel, who was state runner-up at 145 last year, won his first match by fall, his second by technical fall and third by a 6-0 decision. Weigel, how 38-1, will face Goddard’s Manny Capps in the finals.

Drylie won his first match by fall, his second 7-0 and 1-0 in the semifinals. He will take on Kapaun Mt. Carmel’s Luke Bean (46-0).

Derek Stiles (`26), Kyler Meyers (160) and Chandler Rule (195) all won their first two matches but lost in the semifinals.
