A system is available to make sure that the fire department can access your locked home in the case of a fire or medical emergency without breaking in. Hays Fire Chief Gary Brown says fire departments subscribe to a rapid entry system that can be installed in homes and commercial properties.

The rapid entry system costs about $200 and can be purchased through the fire department.
