U.S. Attorney Holds Discussions in Hays

The U.S. Attorney for Kansas, Barry Grissom, spoke at Fort Hays State University this week on the topic of human trafficking. Grissom is trying to educate law enforcement, the public and victims about this crime.

He says in Kansas people are brought into the state and forced to work under terrible conditions and the threat of punishment such as arrest or deportation.

Grissom says human trafficking is a growing problem. A record 120 human trafficking cases were filed in Kansas last fiscal year, and his office is on track to break that record this year.
