The project for Ellis County to demolish the buildings at 22nd and Vine and move ahead with the purchase of the Commerce Bank Building took a step forward Monday night. County Administrator Greg Sund presented the demolition bid, which the commission approved.
The commission also approved a document allowing the bank to lease their current building once the purchase is complete until their new building is finished.
Requests for proposals will be sent to architectural firms for remodel of the bank, design of an EMS and Rural Fire building and other county facilities.
