The Hays Post Office will conduct its 19th Annual Letter Carriers Food Drive Saturday. Residents can put nonperishable food next to their mail box to be picked up by their letter carrier. Postman Lester Robben says the food collected is delivered to the Community Assistance Center.
In the first year of the food drive the Hays Post Office collected 2,700 pounds and last year that amount grew to 10,000 pounds.
The Letter Carriers Food Drive also will take place Saturday in Ellis and Victoria.
