In accordance with Executive Order 10-12, Kansas Governor Sam Brownback has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff from sun-up to sun-down on Tuesday, May 15th in honor of National Peace Officers Memorial Day.
“The officials that provide for public safety in our towns, communities, roads and highways deserve our respect and recognition. They do difficult jobs in often dangerous circumstances, and some have made the ultimate sacrifice for their communities,” said Governor Brownback.
National Peace Officers Memorial Day was established in 1961 to recognize local, state and federal law enforcement and peace officials.
