An accident closed westbound Interstate 70 in Ellis County Monday evening.

The Highway Patrol reports that the tire blew on an SUV, causing the driver to lose control at about 5:45pm. The eastbound vehicle went through the median, overturning in the westbound lanes eight miles west of Hays.

The driver and passenger, both from Las Vegas, Nevada, were taken to HaysMed.
