Chance of Storms And Breezy Today

A very unstable atmosphere will develop by later this afternoon.

Thunderstorms are expected to initiate by the middle of the afternoon, and rapidly become severe, with the potential for tennis ball or larger hail, damaging winds and a perhaps few short lived or brief tornadoes. The greatest threat for severe storms will be toward the Oklahoma line, however anywhere in western Kansas will have the potential for severe hail and thunderstorm winds this afternoon.

Today: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm. Some storms could be severe, with large hail and damaging winds. Partly sunny, with a high near 76. Breezy, with a east southeast wind 8 to 11 mph increasing to between 19 and 22 mph.

Tonight: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 5am. Some of the storms could be severe. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52. Breezy, with a north northeast wind 17 to 20 mph decreasing to between 9 and 12 mph.

Thursday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 69. Breezy, with a north northwest wind between 15 and 20 mph.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 44. North wind between 13 and 16 mph becoming light.

Friday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 75. Calm wind becoming south between 12 and 15 mph.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 57.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 65.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 94.
