Kansas Lt. Governor Dr. Jeff Colyer, a Hays native and TMP Marian High School graduate, is praising Wednesday’s sentencing of the ex- president of Liberia.

Colyer was a volunteer with the International Medical Corps and worked in Sierra Leone in 2001, where he provided medical assistance to many of Charles Taylor’s victims.

A United Nations-backed war crimes court has sentenced Taylor to 50 years in jail for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
