Volunteers with the Gemini Juniors 4-H Club were busy assembling luminaries for Friday night’s American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Hays at the Felten Middle School track.
Each luminary is a tribute to someone who’s fought cancer.
This year’s event was shortened, starting at 7p.m. and concluding at 12 midnight instead of 7a.m. the next morning. Co-chair Lonnie Claycamp says the change allows more people to participate, when they’ve previously been unable to commit to an overnight camp out.
Featured speaker was Medical Oncologist Dr. Ann O’Dea of the HaysMed Breast Care Center.
