The Hays Sr. Legion Eagles improved their record to 9-2 with a doubleheader sweep of Dodge City yesterday. Game one was a pitchers duel with neither team scoring until the top half of the seventh when Hays’ Jake Sedbrook reached on a fielder’s choice and then stole second and third and scored on a Riley Kaus single giving Hays a 1-0 lead and then Tyler Wooldridge scored on a passed ball for the eventual 2-0 win. Wooldridge pitched two innings in relief for the win.

In game two Hays wasted no time getting on the board, the Eagles plated five runs and scored at least one run in six-of-seven innings for the 10-1 win. Hays starter Hayden Hutchinson allowed just one run on four hits through six innings for his second win. The Eagles are now 9-2 and they will play a weekend tournament in North Platte Nebraska over the weekend.
