Hot And Windy Weekend Ahead

Warm and windy conditions can be expected expected on Saturday as afternoon temperatures climb into the 90s.

Temperatures will even approach 100 degrees in a few locations across southwest Kansas. On Sunday a cold front will move into western Kansas. There will be a slight chance for thunderstorms by early Sunday evening along this boundary and east of highway 183. Thunderstorm chances will then improve across the remainder of southwest and south central Kansas Sunday night.

A few thunderstorms early Sunday night could be severe with the main hazard being quarter size hail and wind gusts up to 60 mph.

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. Breezy, with a south wind 9 to 12 mph increasing to between 21 and 24 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 66. Windy, with a south wind 23 to 26 mph decreasing to between 14 and 17 mph. Winds could gust as high as 36 mph.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 94. Windy, with a south wind between 18 and 26 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 69. Windy, with a south wind between 20 and 26 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph.

Sunday: A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5pm. Sunny, with a high near 90. North northwest wind between 10 and 18 mph.

Sunday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64.

Monday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 88.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 63.

Tuesday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 84.
