After finishing the season 20-3 and making back-to-back trips to the 5A state softball tournament the Hays High Softball team had two players named to the Softball Coaches Association 5A All-State Team.
Senior Paige Lunsford was named a first team infielder and Freshman Hannah Hearld was named a first team Utility player. Lunsford finished with a team high 11 homeruns and 42 RBI and was second to Hearld with a .543 batting average.
Hearld finished with a .586 batting average and drove in 36 RBI. Hearld also led the Indians with a 12-2 record, a 1.43 ERA and struck out 74 in 83 and 1/3 innings. Both Lunsford and Hearld were also selected to the First Team all Western Athletic Conference.
