The Ellis County Commission Monday night approved the final piece of an agreement with Commerce Bank for the land swap. In responding to questions posed by a resident last week, County Administrator Greg Sund says the plans should keep the project cost lower than new construction.
The county is using $500,000 in cash from the capital reserve fund and financing the remaining $500,000 for the $1 million cost of the Commerce Bank building. The remaining $800,000 in the capital reserve fund is being used for other costs including the demolition at 22nd and Vine, which was a shared cost with the bank.
